Target is making use of a proprietary app called Studio Connect to allow a select group of members to collaborate with each other and Target’s design teams, Fast Company reports.
The shoppers added to the service are personally selected based on online research and receipt polls conducted by the retailer, and the group size is kept around 600 members. The goal of the service is to draw on a diverse group of Target shoppers to rapidly attain feedback regarding what customers want to see from the retailer.
Studio Connect already yielded interesting results that helped Target improve its offerings. This year, designers used the app to crowdsource slogans for Mother’s Day shirts; they received around 50 responses within a day featuring recurring themes that will be used to design shirts for next year.
