Velvet Canyon is the eyewear brand to know. Based between Byron Bay, Australia and Los Angeles the label was founded by sisters Bec Nolan and Cass Moase and photographer Ali Mitton, after wanting to create eyewear that has a forever appeal.

As for their aesthetic, there’s a cool retro feel with silhouettes and a color palette that nod to the 60s and 70s. The styles are also minimal with every detail thoughtfully considered. The Italian designed acetate frames are combined with custom tinted lenses and champagne gold detailing for a vintage-meets-modern fancy.

Why sunnies? I was styling shoots and struggling to find any sunglasses that I really loved. I was sourcing vintage pairs but there was always something a little off – if the shape was perfect, the color was wrong and vice versa. So I designed my perfect styling kit and Velvet Canyon was born.
