BJ Wholesale, which is owned by the private equity firms Leonard Green & Partners and CVC Capital Partners, is reportedly considering selling itself and Amazon.com (AMZN) is said to have expressed interest, the New York Post recently reported.

BJ’s recently dismissed plans to go public due to Wall Street’s ongoing concerns relating to the retail sector, sources told the Post. Instead the firms that own the warehouse retailer are pressing for a sale that could bring in over $4 billion.
