Doors were locked but lights were on and merchandise was on display Wednesday at the Detroit Kit and Ace, 1449 Woodward Ave., following the company’s decision to shutter all U.S. stores.

Women’s retailer Kit and Ace closed its store on Woodward Avenue in Detroit’s downtown area Wednesday, as it announced closures of all of its stores in the U.S., Australia and the U.K., according to a statement from Bedrock LLC President Dan Mullen and a news release from Kit and Ace.

The Canada-based luxury apparel brand, a Bedrock tenant at 1449 Woodward Ave. next to Warby Parker, is moving the bulk of its efforts to Canadian showrooms and online shopping, according to the retailer’s news release.
