Winn-Dixie will close three stores in Louisiana, including one location in New Orleans East. The stores are set to close in June.

Joe Caldwell, a spokesman for Southeastern Grocers, which owns Winn-Dixie, confirmed Friday (May 5) the Winn Dixie at 4600 Chef Menteur Highway in New Orleans is among the closures. Stores in Slidell and Lafayette will also close.

The stores employ about 175 workers total.

Caldwell said Winn-Dixie, like any business, is constantly evolving its footprint to meet the needs of its customers. The decision to close “is not made lightly,” he said.
