Developers are hoping to create a thriving downtown in Commerce Township with a $100-million retail and entertainment complex.

The Five and Main project will be located on the northeast corner of M-5 and Pontiac Trail and developed in two phases. Phase one, on 30-35 acres, calls for 350,000 square feet of commercial space that will include retail, restaurants, a high-end movie theater, a gourmet market, health and wellness center and 300 luxury residential units, which will be age restricted — 55 and older.

Phase two — the entertainment complex — is expected to be approximately 20 acres, said Dave Campbell, Commerce Township planning director.
