Amazon Takes Kohl’s Returns Partnership Nationwide, Installs Lockers In 1,000 Casino Stores

Amazon is expanding its fulfillment partnerships with two major retailers on two continents, scaling up its in-store returns program with Kohl’s nationwide and installing pickup lockers in 1,000 France-based Casino stores.

All Kohl’s stores will be accepting free, unpackaged returns for Amazon customers starting in July 2019. Kohl’s and Amazon first partnered in 2017 to pilot the returns program, which is currently operating in 100 stores in the Los Angeles, Chicago and Milwaukee markets. Kohl’s and Amazon will roll out the program to all of Kohl’s 1,150+ locations across 48 states. As part of the expansion, Kohl’s will accept eligible Amazon items without a box or label, and return them at no charge for customers.

The program has proven to be a major success for Kohl’s so far, at least in Chicago, according to data from Earnest Research. Chicago regional sales, transactions and customer growth all outpaced the same metrics nationwide for 2018, with new customers up 9% compared to 1%
